Simply follow the steps ahead to block any website on your computer. The website that you want to block can be any website (even, youtube.com or facebook.com ). This following way you can snatch the access from any website and can make the website go blocked from any browser installed in your system. So, here we start with the process:

Step 1: Log-in with the main account i.e. the administrator account or the account having administrator rights (This is because you’ll be altering some of the system files now). However, in case you do not use multiple accounts on your Windows OS, please skip the step.

Step 2: Now open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc in Windows Explorer. To do so press ‘Windows’ and then copy and paste the following address C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Or Open ‘My Computer’ and so open: C>>Windows>>System32>>drivers>>etc. In case yours Windows is not installed to Drive C please replace the letter ‘C’ with the drive letter where you have your windows installed.

Here you will see a file namely ‘hosts’. Right click on this file and select ‘open with’. Open this ‘hosts’ file with ‘Notepad’. Now in the end of this file add the following line:
127.0.0.1<a space><[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] of the website you want to block.com >
Example:
127.0.0.1 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
127.0.0.1 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Add the lines this way to block websites. The above example will let you block ‘[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and ‘[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on your computer and will not let facebook or youtube be opened in your computer when opened from any browser.

Step 3: As you are done with entering all the website you want to block after ’127.0.0.1′, save the file by the name ‘hosts’.
Here at this step, the Windows might ask to save the file in ‘My Documents’ or in any other folder. Let the file be saved in that folder or in My Documents. Now go to the folder where the file was saved.
>There if the file name id shown as ‘hosts.txt’ then right-click on the file and click on ‘Rename’. Rename the file to only ‘hosts’ without any ‘.txt’ extension.
> Else if the file name is just shown as ‘hosts’ then you need to disable the ‘Hide Extensions’ option in your Windows. For this go through the following process:
Open Control Panel. Go to ‘Folder Options’. You can get this option by clicking on ‘View’ and then selecting ‘Large Icons’. As you click on ‘Folder Options’, a dialog box opens up. There, click on the ‘View’ button and then under the ‘Advanced Setting’ check the ‘Hide Extension for Known File Types’ option. Click OK now.

Step 4: Now simply copy the file and replace it with the existing ‘Hosts’ file in the etc folder. To get to the ‘etc’ folder follow this path: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.

Steps5: Thats it!! If you followed all the steps properly you are done with blocking all the sites you entered in the hosts file you edited.
Open any browser in your system and see the MAGIC
